BUILT ENVIRONMENTS BIODIVERSITY PROJECT – CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) and the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) are excited to announce a collaborative open call for project partners.
AURIN and ALA will provide up to $100,000 funding for a project informed by citizen science that will examine the intersection of biodiversity with built environments in Australia. The call for proposals closes on 13 December.
Researchers at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) are working to incorporate more detailed features of the built environment into existing climate models – helping to create better and healthier cities and regions.
“This is rare data that isn’t available in a lot of places – often we’re trying to estimate parameters using satellite data or people going out and doing surveys. So it’s really, really valuable in that sense.” – Dr Mathew Lipson
AURIN provides eInfrastructure and expert eResearch support for urban, regional and social science researchers in academia, government and industry.
These analytical tools and support services streamline access to health, transport, housing, economic, land use, demographic, and an extensive catalogue of other data — all integrated to work together.
